The "I'm Not Mad, I'm Just Unbothered" Era
If I could calculate the sheer amount of energy I spent in my twenties and thirties trying to win arguments, correct misunderstandings, or make sure people knew I was right, I could probably power a small city.
Back then, every slight felt like a battle that required a thesis statement. I would craft perfectly punctuated text messages, mentally rehearse confrontations in the shower, and lose sleep over someone else's complete inability to grasp my point.
Welcome to midlife, where we have officially entered the "Unbothered Era."
It is the glorious, deeply liberating realization that "okay" is a complete sentence. I no longer have the time, the energy, or the desire to convince anyone of anything. If you want to misunderstand me, you are absolutely welcome to do so. I will be over here, completely unfazed, drinking my coffee while you fight with the version of me you invented in your head.
Protecting your peace means recognizing that not every invitation to an argument requires an RSVP. Walking away is no longer a sign of defeat; it is the ultimate power move.
The next time someone tries to drag you into unnecessary drama, just hit them with a calm, pleasant nod, and keep walking. Save that brilliant, strategic energy for building your own empire.
Keep thriving.
